The Nod mattress offers a medium firmness, so it's perfectly in the middle in terms of feel. It's soft to the touch, but very supportive when you lay out on the surface as it responds to your weight.

The New Airweave Mattress is 8" thick, softer, and ships in 2 boxes so assembly is required. Comes with 3 airfiber® pieces, pillow top layer (optional whether you use it) and 2 covers.

Exclusive to Amazon, the Nod is 100% polyurethane foam and not comprised of their proprietary T&N Adaptive foam. It has 2 layers of construction:

• 2.5" Comfort Layer of Responsive Foam
• 5.5" Supportive Base Layer.

While foam and spring mattresses crowd landfills, airweave is composed of a recyclable plastic airfiber core. The lightweight modular design makes it easier to carry and wash your mattress. Great for frequent movers and a nod to traditional Japanese futon culture which is designed to be easily stored when not in use. The foam used in the Nod mattress is an open-celled polyurethane foam that we engineered to have the benefits of memory foam's pressure relief and latex's support, without their drawbacks (like memory foam's sinking and sleeping hot, and latex's lack of pressure relief). That said, both memory and synthetic latex foams are subsets of polyurethane foam.

We all toss and turn at night but only some mattresses allow us to do this with ease and a low level of motion transfer. Our resilient airfiber core provides you with a high level of support from every angle so you feel more like you're floating on top rather than sinking into your mattress. You'll exert less energy while sleeping allowing you (and your partner) to stay in a deeper more restful sleep.

The interwoven airfiber core encourages airflow, which naturally regulates body temperature throughout the night to keep you comfortable. airfiber® disperses body heat and the heat of a blanket thanks to the unique ability to allow airflow through the material. Airweave gets rid of the usual problem of uncomfortable hotspots that most mattresses generate. Control the temperature of your overall sleep environment with the blankets you choose. During the winter, add a warmer blanket to hold in warmer, dispersed air. For warmer months, use a lightweight blanket and you'll enjoy a cooler airflow.

We chose an open-cell foam which allows air to freely flow throughout the night, overcoming foam's reputation for sleeping hot.

Airfiber is our proprietary technology and material that makes up the core of our mattresses. Through its unique interwoven design, airfiber helps you move easily, evenly distributes weight and allows airflow to help keep you in a deeper more restful sleep.

We designed our top layer to be adaptive without feeling like quicksand - cradling your pressure points and meeting you where you are.

Outer Cover: Polyester 100%, Inner Cover: Modacrylic 60%, Glass Fiber 40%. airweave is entirely washable to minimize dust and allergens. Simply remove the mattress cover to machine wash and rinse the airfiber core with water.

The Nod Mattress cover is a viscose/polyester blend.
