Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)

Inspired by the GOTS certification, the Control Union Certifications body pioneered a label that was specific to the production and processing of natural latex. This highly-regarded label is part of the USDA’s National Organic Program and has separate requirements for organic and non-organic raw materials.

In order for a mattress to receive the GOLS label, it must have a minimum of 95% organic raw materials and must pass strict testing with regards to harmful substances, toxic emissions, and polymer and filler percentages.

A key feature of the GOLS label is the use of GOLS-certified transaction certificates at every point in the supply chain. From rubber plantations and processing units to the final point of sale, every group of people involved in creating your mattress and getting it to you must follow the same standards and your product can be traced all the way back to its source.
