Firmness Info

Our softest airfiber® core now in our signature modular mattress design. Optional pillow top layer adds plushness while you can still enjoy the supportive and breathable comfort we're known for.

We make one model of mattress that is designed to be universally comfortable and medium firm, in order to benefit all different types of sleepers regardless of factors such as age, height, weight, or the way you sleep. We like to describe it as firm enough to be supportive, yet soft enough to be comfortable!
We've designed our foam to work with those who like soft mattresses as well as those who like firm, so we encourage everyone to give us a try regardless of your usual preference. If you're not 100% satisfied, you can return it for a full refund.

Mattress Construction

Materials Overview

The New Airweave Mattress is 8" thick, softer, and ships in 2 boxes so assembly is required. Comes with 3 airfiber® pieces, pillow top layer (optional whether you use it) and 2 covers.

Two-layer blended foam designed by and proprietary to Tuft & Needle:

  • The comfort foam layer is 3" of a very high-density foam that we created to achieve our universally comfortable, cool and responsive properties. The density is about 2.8 lbs/cubic ft.
  • The support foam layer is 7" of a high-density poly-foam. The density is about 1.8 lbs/cubic ft.

Comfort Info

While foam and spring mattresses crowd landfills, airweave is composed of a recyclable plastic airfiber core. The lightweight modular design makes it easier to carry and wash your mattress. Great for frequent movers and a nod to traditional Japanese futon culture which is designed to be easily stored when not in use. Enjoy Airweave for a lifetime by easily replacing parts rather than having to buy (or throw out) your entire mattress. A win for your wallet and the environment.

Our foam works in three ways to draw heat from your body and disperse it out of the mattress.
Heat Wicking
Heat is drawn into the mattress where gel and graphite work together to disperse heat outward and away from your body.
Breathable
With the help of our fabric, air flows through the foam cells to boost the speed of heat transfer through the mattress.
No More Quicksand
Our support layer helps hold you closer to the surface to avoid the oven effect caused by sinking in too deeply.

Support Info

We all toss and turn at night but only some mattresses allow us to do this with ease and a low level of motion transfer. Our resilient airfiber core provides you with a high level of support from every angle so you feel more like you're floating on top rather than sinking into your mattress. You'll exert less energy while sleeping allowing you (and your partner) to stay in a deeper more restful sleep.

Designed to be one type of comfort, we are continuously tweaking the mattress to be universally comfortable for everyone. Our foam supports the natural posture of your spine, relieves back, shoulder, and neck pain and naturally breathes so you don't sleep hot.

Comfort Specs

The interwoven airfiber core encourages airflow, which naturally regulates body temperature throughout the night to keep you comfortable. airfiber® disperses body heat and the heat of a blanket thanks to the unique ability to allow airflow through the material. Airweave gets rid of the usual problem of uncomfortable hotspots that most mattresses generate. Control the temperature of your overall sleep environment with the blankets you choose. During the winter, add a warmer blanket to hold in warmer, dispersed air. For warmer months, use a lightweight blanket and you'll enjoy a cooler airflow.

Tuft & Needle Adaptive® Foam
We've engineered a new foam based purely on customer feedback, unparalleled in comfort and support. It's not memory foam or latex. It's Tuft & Needle Adaptive® Foam.

Support Specs

Airfiber is our proprietary technology and material that makes up the core of our mattresses. Through its unique interwoven design, airfiber helps you move easily, evenly distributes weight and allows airflow to help keep you in a deeper more restful sleep.

Supportive Base Layer
Our custom Tuft & Needle Adaptive® Foam is paired with a high-quality support layer that forms the perfect foundation for our mattress.
Our foam is ideal for sleepers of any size or weight - and this is what makes it unique. The more pressure you put on it, the more it reacts to support you.

Fabric Specs

Outer Cover: Polyester 100%, Inner Cover: Modacrylic 60%, Glass Fiber 40%. airweave is entirely washable to minimize dust and allergens. Simply remove the mattress cover to machine wash and rinse the airfiber core with water.

Our plush Tuft & Needle Original Mattress cover is made with a blend of micro polyamide and polyester. It has a lofty, soft feel which is very pleasant to the touch. Micro Polyamide is commonly used in clothing for men, women, and children as an alternative to cotton that dries 6-8 times faster, helping you sleep cooler, longer. With durability in mind, we've designed a fabric that will last. Our mattress cover fabric is pilling-and tearing-resistant. We ask that customers do not remove our cover at any time, as the cover is not designed to be removed for any reason. The zipper on the bottom of the mattress is for assembly only.
Add antimicrobial protection by HeiQ for an additional $50.
